Welcome to Inglestone House

Your Kelso Retreat

There is nothing quite like the charm of a Scottish market town, and at Inglestone House, we invite you to experience it from the best seat in the house. Located in the very centre of Kelso, our 6-bedroom Georgian guest house is full of character, warmth, and comfort. Each of our six spacious en-suite bedrooms is tastefully decorated, and our award-winning breakfast ensures a memorable start to every morning.

We are especially proud of our accessible ground-floor rooms. With a dedicated access ramp at the rear of the property, we make travel easy and worry-free for guests with mobility difficulties—a thoughtful feature that brings returning visitors back to us time and again.

Whether you are here for the famous Kelso Races, a dedicated fishing trip, or simply to relax, our location cannot be beaten. Stroll down to the River Tweed, enjoy our vibrant local dining scene, and make yourself at home in the heart of Kelso.

The beautiful Scottish Borders

Kelso is perfectly positioned for visiting neighbouring Border towns, the rugged East coast and North Northumberland being only 5 miles from the English border. The coastal splendour of Eyemouth, St Abb’s and Berwick-Upon-Tweed are great for a day trip. Edinburgh is only 35 miles away with regular buses and trains making the capital city accessible for all. Wherever you venture from our lovely town you will be captivated by the sheer beauty of the surrounding Scottish Borders countryside. Whatever you are looking for, the Borders has it all; walking, cycling, golf, equestrian and traditional country pursuits, an abundance of country houses and castles showcased by a landscape with a truly turbulent history. If something more leisurely is required, of course we do that too with an abundance of coffee shops, short riverside strolls and retail therapy.

If you are looking to explore where Scotland begins, then Inglestone House in Kelso is the perfect base. Any questions please contact us.

Colourful visitor to Kelso

The Cobby riverside walk in Kelso is known for it's picturesque views and resident wildfowl. We were delighted to find a Mandarin duck snoozing next to a distinctly dull mallard on one of our lockdown strolls.
