The sun is out, it’s a beautiful warm July day and we need a socially distant outdoor activity with a tasty reward. So off to Border Berries at Rutherford a short drive along the river from Kelso to pick the best strawberries you will find anywhere!
Stepping out of the car you can smell the fruit, it is heavenly. They also have raspberries, tayberries, gooseberries, blackcurrants, redcurrants and peas. If you are feeling too exhausted to find your own fruits they have ready picked baskets. There is a picnic area and a very reasonable cafe with excellent coffee, scones and cake.
We look forward to consuming these beauties with just a dash of double cream. Yum yum.
